What brought you to Austin?
Ballet Austin offered me an apprenticeship with the company.
What is your favorite thing about Austin?
I love that you never have to go far to find nature. There are trails and swimming holes everywhere.
How does your [career/focus] affect your life in the city?
The dance community here has connected me with unique artists across many disciplines. There are lots of different performances happening all of the time and it is nice to be in the know about them.
What about the city inspires you?
You can tell that Austin is full of youthful, hopeful energy. I’ve discovered so many small and quirky businesses here and I feel like there’s a community for everybody.
What neighborhood do you live in?
South Lamar
What are your favorite things about your neighborhood?
It has the quirky South Austin feel but is also close to downtown. There are lots of restaurants, bars, and concert venues within close distance.
You're having dinner at your favorite restaurant in Austin. Where do you go and what do you order?
Loro is my current favorite. I order the corn fritters and the chicken karaage.
Your best friend is moving to town. What's the best piece of advice to give them?
The city is not really designed for parking and traffic. Pick somewhere to live that is conveniently located near places you’re interested in going. Take advantage of the food scene!
How has your industry changed in the last five years?
The performing arts world took a major hit during the Covid shutdowns. The industry is beginning to finally bounce back and it’s nice to see full audiences again.
