There is no end to online entertainment these days, and sometimes the number of options alone gets overwhelming. So, we decided to curate an abbreviated list we can personally vouch for. Whether nightly storytimes are offered to give parents a break (and to delight the kiddos) or interactive singalongs, these specially scheduled offerings not only help with consistency but are actually really fun for kids of all ages.
Goodnight with Dolly
Music legend, Dolly Parton reads aloud select Imagination Library books for a 10-week special series of weekly videos with the hope that this gift will further “inspire a love of books and shared storytime during this important period.” See her first reading, which aired on April 2nd, of The Little Engine That Could here.
Story Time with Josh Gad
Voice of Olaf in Disney’s Frozen series and father of two, Josh Gad, reads aloud every night “Since we’re all stuck at home right now, I figured we would have a little fun together,” Gad said last week in a video on Twitter and Instagram. (Parent’s Note: It’s extra fun if you have the book at home so everyone can see the pictures.) Times have varied, but he is starting to give a little more advance notice of when that night’s story time will begin. If you miss it, don't worry, you can catch up. Watch a few of our faves here:
E-visit the Louvre
While we cannot jet to Paris right now, we can take a digital tour of one of the most famous international museums, the Louvre from the comfort of our sofa. Parent’s Note: This was especially fun after watching The Davinci Code with older kids.
Mr. Will
Austin’s own children’s musician, Will Dupuy, is now producing a live interactive children’s show on Facebook and Instagram daily from 10 am. Will performs original songs as well as popular cover songs to keep kids entertained and give parents a little break.
