Chillier mornings, cool breezes, evenings that just make you want to snuggle up with a warm meal – Fall is officially here, and everyone should be given the opportunity to enjoy both ends of the giving spirit it brings with it. In order to celebrate Giving Tuesday this year, we’ve put together a list of ways you can give back to those in need this season.
Giving Tuesday
Dec 1 2026
Held the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving, Giving Tuesday was established in 2012 to encourage community support and, well, giving!
Here in Central Texas, it is headlined by I Live Here I Give Here and their online platform Amplify ATX. Over the last 14 years, it has grown to be globally recognized as a “generosity movement” reaching more than 150 countries.
On AmplifyATX’s website, donation amounts can be pre-set to, in certain cases, help visualize the difference you’ll make. For example, $200 provides 50 families with a pound of ground beef each. Although it’s just a representation of where the money will go, it becomes clear why, in 2025, I Live Here I Give Here was able to raise and distribute $255,752 between over 700 Central Texas nonprofits. Whether you donate today, or wait until the holiday to get in the spirit, your support will go directly to improving and enriching our local arts, education, environment, and community wellness.
