If you’re getting ready to close up your summer home before fall starts, don’t forget to take the following measures so you can keep your property safe and sound until spring has sprung.
Inspect Your Property Inside and Out.
Walk the perimeter of your property and take note of any damages before you close up your summer home. Make a list of anything you find that needs to be fixed and determine if it should be taken care of before you close up or when you return in the spring.
Turn Off Your Water.
To avoid pipes freezing in the cold winter months, be sure to turn your water off before saying goodbye to summer. Even if you keep your home heated in the winter, there’s always a chance the heater could break, and your home temperatures can drop low enough to cause freezing.
