Austin is more than just a city — it’s a vibrant community full of neighbors, families, and local organizations that make our city feel like home. At Moreland Properties, we see firsthand the impact that strong, caring communities have on the quality of life here. During the holiday season, giving back is a meaningful way to support those in need, celebrate the spirit of the season, and strengthen the bonds that make Austin such a special place to live and work. From volunteering to sponsoring families, there are countless ways to make a difference right here in our city.
Salvation Army Angel Tree Program
Participate in the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree by helping to organize holiday gift lists, sort donated toys, and support distribution events during the season. Donation opportunities also available.
SAFE Alliance Holiday Wish List
Volunteer with SAFE Holidays to support survivors of abuse — you can help with organizing gift donations, sorting wish lists, and managing drop-off operations. Donation opportunities also available.
Blue Santa — Austin Police Operation
Help bring holiday joy to children in need by volunteering with the Austin Police’s Operation Blue Santa. Volunteers sort gifts, assist in the warehouse, and help with community pick-up days. Donation opportunities also available.
Volunteer in their warehouse or at mobile food pantries to help sort, box, and distribute food donations to those in need. Donation opportunities also available.
Meals on Wheels — Central Texas
Deliver nutritious meals and perform wellness checks to older adults and people with disabilities. Volunteers can sign up for regular routes, substitute driving, or help manage meal pickup sites.
A family-friendly nonprofit that empowers kids and teens to volunteer with their community. Generation SERVE organizes service projects across many local nonprofits, making it ideal for multi-generational volunteering.
Volunteer at Community First! Village, a residential community for people experiencing chronic homelessness. Help with holiday events, community activities, or serve alongside residents.
Join the volunteer team at Austin Pets Alive! to help care for animals — tasks include kennel cleaning, dog walking, enrichment, and supporting adoption events. Donation opportunities also available.
Brown Santa — Travis County Sheriffs Department
Support Travis County families by donating new toys and non-perishable food, or by helping sort and distribute items during the holiday season.
Toys for Tots — Marine Corps Reserve
Toys for Tots collects and distributes new, unwrapped toys to children throughout the Austin area. For the 2025 season, residents can donate gifts at local drop-off sites or contribute financially to help Marine volunteers deliver holiday joy to families in need.
Support children and families in foster care this holiday season through Austin Angels. Your donation helps fund their Love Box® program, which provides care packages to foster families, and their Dare to Dream® mentorship program, offering stability and relational support all year long. Sponsorship opportunities also available.
Coats for Kids — Junior League of Austin
Help keep Central Texas kids warm this winter by donating to the Junior League of Austin’s 39th annual Coats for Kids program. From Nov. 11–Dec. 1, 2025, individuals and groups can host a coat-drive competition or drop off new/gently used coats; all donated coats are sorted during Volunteer Week (Dec. 2–10) and distributed to children across the region. Volunteer opportunities also available.
Support children and families receiving mental health services through the Austin Child Guidance Center by making a holiday gift donation. Your contributions help fund their sponsorship program, which provides essential care and services to young people and their families, particularly during the holiday season.
Holiday Wishes — Partnerships for Children
Holiday Wishes fulfills the gift lists of children in the Central Texas CPS system each holiday season. In 2025, donors can “adopt a wishlist,” shop from curated gift needs, or contribute through their online donation portal to ensure every child receives something special.
Through their Home for the Holidays program, you can sponsor a specific Foundation Communities household and fulfill their holiday wish list. After signing up, sponsors receive a list of requested items (usually $50–$100 per household member) and deliver gifts during a designated drop-off window.
Any Baby Can matches families they serve with generous community members who “adopt” them for the holidays — donors receive a custom wish list, buy and wrap gifts, then drop them off in early December to brighten a struggling family’s season.

Whether you’re delivering meals, donating gifts, or sponsoring a household, every act of kindness has a ripple effect across Austin. As a local company, Moreland is proud to highlight these opportunities and encourage our community — neighbors, friends, and clients alike — to get involved. Giving back not only helps those in need, but it also strengthens the heart of our city, reminding us that home is about more than just where we live; it’s about how we care for one another.
