Barton Springs

Starting off with a classic spot you’ve doubtlessly heard before, Barton Springs remains one of Austin’s most iconic summer spots. The proud natural home of the Barton Springs Salamander and free-spirited locals alike, this pool wears its heart on its sleeve. Three acres in size and fed by a constantly-running supply of water from an underground spring, it’s always a top-tier option for a hot day.
Deep Eddy

The oldest swimming pool in Texas, Deep Eddy stays well-maintained and well-populated all throughout the Summer. Filled with cool, untreated springwater and housing plenty of room to spread out under the shade or on the concrete bleachers, you should definitely add this one to your roster.
Beverly S. Sheffield Northwest Municipal Pool
Open 12-7PM (Closed Thu) | $5 Entry for Austin Residents | 12ft max depth
Having originally opened in 1956, the Northwest District Pool was the first olympic-sized swimming pool to open in Austin, allowing it to be used for official meets. With renovations concluding in just April of this year, it’s now been converted into a regional aquatic center. Continuing to maintain its 50-yard lanes, it now also hosts a shallow toddler pool, as well as a splash pad, a diving board, and an aerobic pool. Fresh, fun, and open just in time for the heat, don’t miss out on this new local favorite.
Lakeway Swim Center
Open 11AM-5PM Daily (Closed Mon for training) | $10 Entry | 5ft max depth
If you’re situated a little farther west, Lakeway Swim Center is a great option for a fun day in the water. With a small lily pad obstacle course, two full water slides, and even swim lessons, there’s much to offer both locals and residents.
Life Time day passes
Open 5AM-9PM For Guests | $50 Day Pass | 4-6ft max depth
To experience a day of exclusive luxury, Life Time offers day passes that allow all their offered amenities accessible for day-going guests. At the Austin South, North, and Arboretum locations, this includes their pools and aquatics. While the features vary by location, the South and North locations have both indoor and outdoor pools, and all three offer lessons for youngsters, as well as a quiet, controlled environment for maximum relaxation.
Pease Splash Pad

One part of the larger area of park, the interactive Pease Splash Pad is a great option for open community play. Surrounded by playscape and sport courts, it offers a place for kids to run through and cool off on their way to their next activity.
The Quarry Splash Pad at Williamson County Southwest Regional Park

For those finding themselves a bit more Northwest, The Quarry offers daily entry passes and plenty of room to set up, spread out, and run around in the water for the day. If you’re looking to host a larger party or gathering, there are also pavilions set up for daily rentals.
Ricky Guerrero Park

A smaller, local spot, the splash pad at Ricky Guerrero park brings exactly what it needs to the table. Perfect for small kids, bring a blanket and picnic basket along with you for a nice day in the shade.
Liz Carpenter Splash Pad
Open 10AM - 10PM Daily | Free
Clean, open, and settled in the heart of downtown, the Liz Carpenter Splash Pad is a favorite among locals to visit during the Summer. Grab a towel and sunscreen and you’re all set, although after a day of play, I’m sure your kids will want a snack.
If you’re up for a little road trip and want a fun daytrip getaway, maybe a visit to the waterpark will be more your speed!
Typhoon Texas Phlugerville

An option that’s slightly closer to Austin, Typhoon Texas has just as much to offer in the name of classic waterpark fun. Whether you’re looking to relax in the shade while your kids play or ride a few slides yourself, don’t miss the events and promotions going on that could get you or a friend a free ticket for Father’s day, BOGO 2’s-Days, or even a reward for good grades!
Kalahari Resort Indoor Waterpark Round Rock

For folks who want an escape from the harsh sun, look no further than the Kalahari Resort Indoor Waterpark.
