As the back-to-school season approaches, it’s important to remember that for many families in our community, this time of year brings financial stress rather than excitement. In fact, approximately 56% of all Austin ISD students are considered economically disadvantaged, meaning thousands of kids may return to school without the basic supplies they need to learn confidently. Supporting local back-to-school supply drives is a simple yet powerful way to ensure every student starts the year on equal footing, equipped not just with pencils and notebooks—but with the confidence and dignity every child deserves.
Some of the drives below request monetary donations-only, while others have opportunity to drop off supplies.
