How to Prep Your Home for a Property Shoot

Remove all personal items/remotes from table tops and open shelving – exceptions are decorative items

Straighten pillows, chairs, blankets/throws

Remove all items from the table/countertop – exceptions are lamps/decorative items

Make beds and straighten pillows and bed covering

Hide trashcans and diaper genies

Remove everything from the countertop and sink area

Consider staging with a plant, a nice cutting board, or one decorative bowl

Remove any personal items and refrigerator magnets

Remove your car(s) from the driveway

Mow the lawn and add mulch if necessary

Remove all lawn equipment, debris, recycle & trashcans from sight – roll up and hide garden hoses

Open patio umbrellas

Check that all windows that can be seen from the outside have the lights on and curtains/blinds are open – this includes garages

Turn on all exterior lights – with the exception of floodlights

Turn on all landscape lighting, pool lights, and water features

All cars are to be removed from the driveway
