For 40 years, Moreland Properties has been rooted in the people and relationships that make Austin home. Beyond real estate, our agents are parents, neighbors, coaches, community members, and longtime Austinites raising families and building lives here every day.
This Father’s Day, we’re celebrating the fathers of Moreland by sharing a glimpse into the moments and places that define life in Austin for them—whether it’s a favorite Saturday ritual, a neighborhood go-to, or the local spots where memories with family continue to unfold. From long-standing Austin institutions to simple everyday traditions, these are local spots define our city.
Because to us, being local isn’t just about knowing Austin—it’s about living it, together.
Ben loves spending time outdoors with his son, Max, whether it’s fishing, shooting, or exploring the Texas Hill Country together. For Ben, some of the best memories are made outside enjoying all that Central Texas has to offer.
For Kelly Martin, some of her favorite memories with her dad date back to trips to Amy’s Ice Creams in the ‘90s—a special part of growing up in Austin. Today, as a mom with a family of her own, those slow moments and generational traditions continue to shape the way she experiences the city and the people she loves most.
Clayton loves making memories with his family both close to home and far beyond Texas—whether that’s cheering on the Texas Stars at H-E-B Center or getting outdoors together on trips away from Austin. For Clayton, it’s all about quality time, adventure, and experiencing new places as a family.
A proud dad of four who grew up in Austin himself, Cord loves to take his family to all of his favorite local spots where they can create new memories at traditional places.
As a dad and Austin local, Chad Mahagan is always trying new places to eat around the city—turning family time into a running list of favorite spots and new discoveries.
As a proud dog dad, John Sjoberg loves spending time walking through Tarrytown with his pup and stopping at neighborhood favorites like Zed's Real Fruit Ice Cream and Flo’s Wine Bar & Bottle Shop. For John, it’s the simple routines and local spots that make the neighborhood feel like home.
A Westlake native, Greg stays closely connected to the neighborhood he grew up in, often making a stop at Texas Honey Ham along the way. For him, Father’s Day is about family, familiarity, and the everyday Austin traditions that feel like home.
As a Lake Travis dad and father of three (including two UT grads), Sam is happiest spending time with family—whether that’s around Lakeway or making trips to visit loved ones in Hawaii.
Melissa and her father, Fleetwood—better known as “Big Fleet” to his grandkids—share a love for Austin BBQ, especially dinners at County Line whenever he’s visiting family in the Austin area.
A devoted father and longtime Austinite, Steve finds just as much joy supporting his kids’ passions and family adventures as he does helping clients find their place in Austin.
As Ben prepares to become a first-time dad, this Father’s Day feels especially meaningful—marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for his growing family.
For August, Father’s Day is also a tribute to family legacy—pictured here visiting the plaque honoring his grandfather, the architect behind Austin’s iconic Norwood Tower.
For Don, Father’s Day looks a lot like time spent fishing, being outdoors, and making memories with his daughter since 1995 and before.
A born-and-raised Austinite, Chris is grounded in fatherhood and family, spending time together in the simplest way—grabbing a bite at Hopsfields near UT.
As a newlywed, this Father's Day is especially special for Mary Elizabeth as she reminisces on the memories with the first man in her life.
A big family that's continuing to grow, Suellen's Dad has his hands full with grandkids, great grandkids and more. When spending time together in Austin, Suellen and her dad like to grab a bite at Matt's El Rancho or The Grove in Westlake.

The connection our agents have to Austin extends far beyond real estate. It’s found in the restaurants they gather at after long weeks, the parks where their kids grow up, the traditions they pass down, and the everyday moments that become part of a family’s story.
This Father’s Day, we’re celebrating not just the fathers within our brokerage, but the community that surrounds them—the local businesses, neighborhoods, and experiences that help shape life in Austin year after year.
Here’s to the dads helping shape Austin in ways both big and small—and to the memories being made across the city every day.
